Wild parrots started flying in and landing on the trees along mission bay in san diego on a cool, cloudy day. I walk around and catch some individuals and groups. Sometimes they fly overhead. I did my best to minimize footstep sounds and wind noise. Mostly, i did a good job of that. No. 2 at about 2:35 there's a nice group after a long silence, so don't quit beforehand. The stereo mics add to the liveliness of the sounds.

Ambiguous beat pattern produced with a heavily cross-modulated sample and hold patch on the studiofactory/synfactory soft synth.

A very low frequency tone/drone made with the studiofactory software synth. It's a cross-mod of the perlin tone generator with a formant generator. This is about as low and loud as my current speaker/amplifier system allows. Use with care i. E. Turn down your playback systems output before you play it. Final mastering was done with audacity.

This is a high-quality foley sound effect of me typing on my logitech k811 keyboard. Chain: ev re320, mogami gold studio cable, apogee element 46. Daw: adobe auditionresolution: 48khz/24bit.

This standup bass was sampled using a direct pickup as well as stereo overhead mics for some room ambience. Articulations include a normal pizzicato, or finger plucked note; a stopped note as performed with the finger; a stopped note performed bartok style; and some miscellaneous sound effects: a slide by the hand down the strings, a slap on the strings, and a knock on the wooden body of the bass. I got hit by a spinning firecracker that decided to run into me while recording my other firecracker sounds. In the middle of the clip it sounds like someone stepping on old wood planks. Maybe someone will have some use for this sound.
